Background
Douglas H. Summerville is a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at °®¶¹´«Ã½, State University of New York. He received a BE degree in electrical engineering in 1991 from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from °®¶¹´«Ã½ in 1994 and 1997, respectively.
He served as chair of the ECE Department at °®¶¹´«Ã½ from 2015-25. He has authored over 60 journal and conference papers and two textbooks on embedded systems design. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ASEE. He has received two State University of New York Chancellor's Awards for Excellence (for Faculty Service and Teaching), the °®¶¹´«Ã½ Council/Foundation Award for Service to the University, and several teaching awards.
His research and teaching interests include embedded and digital systems design; hardware Trojans, covert hardware and tamper detection; and computer and network security in general.
