The Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) is an advisory group that supports the Title VI Coordinator with review of investigations and other institutional processes. It is a goal to ensure that reporting mechanisms, resources, and support are easily accessible. BIRT represents campus departments and assists students, faculty and staff, who have witnessed or experienced bias with guidance for reporting a bias incident and connecting to campus resources for their safety and wellbeing.
BIRT is comprised of representatives from several campus departments who also serve as subject matter experts on specific issues related to Title VI or alleged bias incidents.
For questions, contact the chair of BIRT, Ada Robinson-Perez, affirmative action officer and Title VI coordinator.
